IT'S ALL ABOUT THE COMMUNITY

Sometimes you can get so wrapped up in the numerous tasks you have on your 'to do' list that you can lose sight of the big picture. I’ve recently been working on policies and business plans and have got a bit obsessed with proof reading and getting them to look nice! Some days I have been in my little office all day, looking out at the birds (and squirrel!) on the feeders hanging outside my window and hankering after the garden.

Two things have reminded me why we’re doing this!
Firstly, we’ve received a lovely and unexpected donation from the ‘parents and tots’ group that used to run in the village back in the day. In fact, I was one of the founder members over 30 years ago! They closed their bank account and wanted to contribute the remaining funds to a like minded local community group. A big thank you to the group – we’ll use the funds to help our cause and hopefully will be able to offer a space for new young families to meet again soon.

Secondly, when I’d reached my brain power limit yesterday, I decided to go for a 'quick walk' to the end of the village and back, to clear my head. I went along Barr Lane where my kids like so many others, learned to ride their bikes. The 30 minute loop took me over an hour! It was because I stopped to chat with several people, who all asked about the pub (I’m used to it now!) and were really enthusiastic and supportive.
So, that’s the second time in a couple of months that I’ve come home from a little 'decompress' walk renewed and determined to meet the challenges ahead! So… back to the proof reading!
Keep the faith team!
