We recently told you that we had been approached by Cartwrights with regard to our interest in the pub. We told them the community are interested in buying it and made an offer. They replied to say that they unable to accept our initial offer but were prepared to discuss options. We have been working on these.
Cartwrights have just replied again to say they are looking at a revised proposal and a new application will be submitted during September.
They have said they will be doing another leaflet drop very soon to inform the village about these revised plans but you should be aware that we consider that their current proposal does not provide a viable pub option. They have outlined a very small area which includes the pub but little else. However, they have said they do not want stop negotiations with us about the pub so we will continue to engage with them to work towards a suitable agreement.
We will be looking at the applications they put in and will share information and guidance with the community again, alongside ongoing discussions with Cartwrights in our desire to secure a viable pub for the community.
